Galactic Civilizations Review-April 5, 2003
One of the most popular games for the old OS/2 operating system was Galactic Civilizations, and now Stardock has taken the basic premise and overhauled it for 2003. This is a is a single player space strategy game, in which the player colonizes planets, researches technologies, and battles against 5 alien races for control of the galaxy. Best of all, this may be the game that cleanses the bad taste left by MOO3.
Splinter Cell Review-March 24, 2003
Released last November for the Xbox, Ubi Soft's Splinter Cell's was heralded as the next 'must have' game for that system. It combined Tom Clancy's conspiracy-filled plots with Metal Gear Solid's stealth like gameplay, and tossed in some high-octane action as well. Now, Splinter Cell makes it transition to the PC and attempts to deliver the high-end gameplay as the console version, which as some other cart ports have proven, is not an easy task.
Command and Conquer: Generals Review-March 7, 2003
The latest chapter in the Command & Conquer saga is here, and this is definitely not your grand-daddy's Red Alert. The game engine has been overhauled, featuring true 3D graphics, an enhanced user interface, and more balanced gameplay. There are still some concessions with the new game design, and we'll see if Generals is a worthy successor to the popular C&C line.
